Overview

Churen Himal base camp trek is situated north west from Beni a part of Jaljala trek and this is completely apart from the beaten paths, this trekking is for the person who loves the beauty of nature and the wild valleys of course spectacular view of Dhaulagiri. The trek offer an opportunity to discover areas, which remain practically, untouched and still retain an Individual lifestyle without being affected by western influences. On this trekking you will have a chance to trek into the mass of the Dhorpatan hills. This area is full of rivers and fast glacial streams, lots of forest and animals. Visit the base camp of Churen Himal and follow the Pelma Khola down from its source to the rich forests and rocky spires of Lower Dolpa. A land myth and legend. In the settlement of Dhorpatan we can see the Bon Monastery, Tibetan Herbal Medicine School as well as friendly local village.

The Churen Himal trek is a non touristic trekking trail in the Annapurna region. This trek is for those who love to explore beautiful nature and wild valleys. The exotic, breathtaking Himalayas like Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Gurja Himal and Churen Himal can be viewed during the Churen Himal trek. We will take you out of the beaten track, inside a region where very few foreigners are travelling, reaching the Churen Himal base camp, a peak that belongs to the western Dhaulagiri range.

Itinerary

Upon arrival at Tribhuwan international airport, welcomed by our representative and transfer to hotel. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure. A pre trip meeting and briefing will held all together with you at hotel about the daily program activities by company representative and your trip Leader/Guide where you can discuss your final questions all together.

After breakfast the day will start with a guided tour of Kathmandu's historical and spiritual key attractions; including the historic Kathmndu Durbar Square, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambunath) and then finally visit to Patan Durbar square which is situated the heart of the city constitutes the focus of visitor's attraction. In the evening there will be pre-trip discussion where you can meet your group leader/guide then you can ask any questions you may have.

This day after breakfast being early in the morning we drive to Beni (850m) via Pokhara, approximately the drive should take 8/9 hours and you’ll find most of the part enjoyable, and offering good scenery. Beni is at the confluence of the Myagdi Khola and the Kali Gandaki.

Leaving Beni and Kali Gandaki the treks head west along the north bank of the Myagdi Khola through the village of Beni Mangalghat to Singa and Tatopani (Hot springs). Crossing the bridge beyond the village to the south bank of the river, the trail makes a little half loop before crossing another bridge, near the village of Simalchour, back to the north bank from where it continues to the village of Babichor.

The valley widens and terraced hills develop on both sides of the river. The trail is fairly level and you pass the village of Shahashradhara, cross the Duk Khola and walking through fields arrive at Ratorunga. From here the valley narrows again and the terraces disappear on either side of the river. Continue to the village of Dharapani (1400m).

After crossing the river to its West Bank as you leave Phedi the trail starts climbing in earnest and there will be many switch-backs until you arrive at the ridge and the angle of ascent eases. Once again climb a steep slope after which you descend a mountain path past Takum where cultivated fields spread over the wide mountain flank. You arrive at the village of Sibang and camp on grassy ground.

Sibang we walk to Jalja-La (3430m) with side of mountain through the cultures and small villages by foot to join Dhara Khola. Enjoy picnic at the edge of the river, then assemble stiff until Maraini (2550m) camp at edge of forest with a superb point of view on the solid mass of Dhaulagiri.

We walk up in forest where molest change and rhododendrons goats. On the trunk of the trees more than centenaries are clutched air ferns and on the branches hang hairy lichens with the collar Jalja-La (3430m) panorama on the solid mass of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. Camping with the place says Gurjaghat in the valley of Uttar Ganga close to Dhorpatan (2800m).

Beautiful stage of the wild forest (Royal Reserve of Hunting) refuge of the Himalayan bears, castors, Theresa. In autumn the colors are a treat for the eyes. A small path carries out us towards pastures of altitude of Rupachaur Kharka (3400m) Rise of a top of easy access offering an imposing panorama on the solid mass of Dhaulagiri and Churen Himal.

Passage of collar (3700m) at descent in a valley deep and boxed (Bamboo's, cedars, cascades and also sometimes enormous honeycombs wild to observe under the rock overhangs) to join the large village of Magar, located at the foot of Gurja Himal.

Short stage to the pastures of Darshinge where is last water point before the watershed that one will go up tomorrow to the collar of Bundzunge.

Departure at day break to cross the collar of Bundzunge Bara (4450m) Long watershed offering a panorama on the western slopes of Gurja Himal and Gustung Himal and Valley of Thar Khola.

We walk to Churen Himal base camp (4160m) we walk up in the valley of Khaphe khola. The Churen Himal in its entire splendor faces draws up his proud pyramid with more that 7000m. It is not rare in these places to be able to observe hordes of blue goats of the Himalayas or for the lucky.....one leopard of snows.

Passage of Bundzunge Bara and long descent between sky, ground, mountain and valley to the village of Gurjagaon.

Crossed of Guja Khola and gone up by one to feel in forest with the collar of Deaurali (3280m) Panorama on Puth Hiunchuli, Annapurna I (8091m) South Annapurna (7219m) Dhaulagiri I beautiful way in balcony to join the village of Lulang.

We walk through the villages of Zurpani, Dhara, Muri to reach at Khibang which is picturesque Magars villages located on the southern slope of Dhaulagiri (8167m).

Walking through the forests of rhododendrons and villages of Magars until Marang where panoramas on the chains of southern Dhaulagiri pouring.

We walk up through the terrace cultivation, and then crossed of a magnificent and magic forest to the collar Deaurali (2800m) the way leads us to the village of Pakhapani close which we establish out camping.

We walk up through a beautiful forest of rhododendron to a collar and descent towards the valley of Rahughat Khola. Return towards the valley of Kaligandaki, the view point on Annapurna.

After breakfast we catch regular bus and drive back to Pokhara. You are free look around Pokhara valley.

Those who have still more vacation and still are interested in continuing on to the Jungle Safari, River Rafting or any other tours they can start this day. Otherwise, drive to Kathmandu by tourist bus. Along the way you can enjoy with good scenery views. You'll be arriving at Kathmandu late afternoon. You're free in Kathmandu for shopping.

After breakfast you will have some free time until the time to leave the international airport for your final departure.
